Jason has always loved dogs. He managed to talk his loving parents into letting him have his first dog at the young age of 5 years old, a yellow Pointing Lab named Shadow. To some this might have seemed too much for someone so young, however Jas buckled down and got to work. With the help of his father, he began training his first dog. This only grew and became a love and a passion for dogs and training them. At the age of 13 Jas began hunting upland game birds because, “He was done listening to stories of his dad and grandfathers' hunting trips, he was bound to make his own.” Being the young determined boy he was and with some luck he acquired another dog, this time a black lab (only by dragging his younger brother into the picture) and became engaged with hunting birds. In the summer of 2004 Jason learned of a whole new approach to hunting upland birds through “pointing dogs”. After doing a fair amount of research Jas began working on his mother; pleading, asking, wheeling and dealing in order to bring home another hunting dog to which his mother firmly said NO! This didn’t stop him after several months of working on his mother; Jason hit the Jackpot in January 2005 with a deal. Due to missing school in order to hunt birds Jason’s GPA had slipped, so his mother told him that by the end of the school year if he had better than a 3.0 (GPA) “then we’ll talk!” Well Jason hit the books and come the end of the school year he had done it! A 3.4 was earned and he was able to bring home a Brittany pup which he subsequently named “Jason’s 3.0 GPA Mollie”(pictured below as a pup with shadow) By the end of jr. year in high school he had what many would call a “dang good dog” but he didn’t stop there. He continued to train and work with this dog and having a job on a local hunting preserve aided in fast-forwarding the process. Jason had a Dream to start his own kennel one day; but kept that dream to himself because he knew that he would have to wait until after serving a two-year full time mission for the LDS church in South Korea. Jason returned home in fall 2008 and married a beautiful young lady that next summer. Jason is now an A.B.C. (Animal Behavior College) Graduate, and professional dog trainer. Due to the loss of his faithful companion Shadow of 15 years and now being home, he has now acquired a few more members of the family that are helping him continue on his goal of having his own kennel and being a dog trainer. He Currently participates in American Field, field trials.
